Tennessee Strong 2 LLC ("Tennessee Strong 2," "we," "us," or "our") operates the What Wine When mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described here.
01
Who May Use the Service
The Service is intended only for people at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where they live if higher. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone who does not meet this requirement.
02
Information We Collect
Account and profile information
We collect information you provide, including first and last name, email address, optional cell phone number, street address, city, state or region, postal code, country, and account preferences. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider; we do not receive or store them in readable form.
Wine and cellar information
We collect wine identity details, quantities, storage locations, purchase information, inventory history, notes, and AI-generated drinking windows, maturity information, pairings, confidence levels, and market-value estimates.
Wine label photographs
With permission, you may photograph a label or select an image. We process only the image you choose. Before upload, the Service re-encodes it and removes embedded metadata such as GPS coordinates, capture date, and device metadata.
AI inputs and outputs
We send the selected label image and relevant wine details to OpenAI for label recognition and wine analysis. We do not intentionally include your name, address, phone number, password, or complete cellar in an individual analysis request. The AI service may search public sources to help identify or research the wine.
Technical information
We and our providers may process IP address, device and operating-system details, timestamps, diagnostics, authentication events, database and storage logs, and crash information needed to operate and secure the Service.
Payment information
The Service does not currently process paid subscriptions. If paid plans are introduced, a platform or payment provider will process payment details and additional disclosures will be provided before purchase.
03
How We Collect Information
- Directly from you when you create an account, maintain your inventory, add notes, or contact us.
- From your device when you choose the camera or photo library.
- Automatically from systems used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
- From public wine sources found during AI-assisted web research.
04
How We Use Information
- Create, authenticate, secure, and support accounts.
- Maintain wine inventory and bottle history.
- Recognize labels and prefill wine details.
- Generate drinking estimates, rankings, tasting notes, pairings, confidence levels, and estimated values.
- Preserve user corrections and preferences.
- Diagnose errors, prevent abuse, comply with law, and enforce our Terms.
- Improve the Service using aggregated, de-identified, or appropriately authorized information.
We do not sell or facilitate the purchase of alcoholic beverages, display third-party advertising, or sell personal information.
05
AI Processing and Training
The Service currently uses OpenAI API services with application-state storage disabled. OpenAI states that business API data is not used to train its models by default. Request and response content may nevertheless be retained in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days under standard API controls, subject to legal and security exceptions. AI-generated information is stored in your account so it does not need to be regenerated every time you open the app.
06
When We Disclose Information
Service providers
We use Supabase for hosting, authentication, storage, backups, functions, and logs; OpenAI for label analysis, research, and generated content; Expo during development and beta distribution where applicable; Apple for application distribution; and future payment providers if paid plans are introduced.
Other limited circumstances
We may disclose information when required by law; to protect users, Tennessee Strong 2, or others; to investigate abuse; in a financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or asset sale; or at your direction.
07
What We Do Not Do
- Sell personal information.
- Share information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Display third-party ads.
- Sell, deliver, distribute, or facilitate the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
- Intentionally collect precise location.
- Access contacts, messages, or unrelated photographs.
- Store your account password in readable form.
08
Data Retention and Deletion
- Accounts and profiles: retained while active and deleted through the in-app deletion process, subject to limited legal and security retention.
- Current wines: retained until permanently deleted or the account is deleted.
- Past bottles: retained until that record or the account is deleted.
- Label photographs: retained while tied to active inventory or history and deleted when the final associated record or account is deleted.
- Database backups: retained by Supabase for up to seven days. Deleted live data may remain in encrypted backups until expiration. Storage image files are not contained in database backups.
- Operational logs: generally retained for up to seven days under the current Supabase plan.
- OpenAI abuse-monitoring logs: may be retained up to 30 days under standard controls.
- Legal records: future payment, tax, fraud-prevention, or accounting records may be retained as required by law.
09
Your Choices and Rights
You may review and update supported information, correct AI-generated fields, remove wines and history, revoke device permissions, delete your account in the app, or contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information. Applicable law may provide additional rights. We may verify identity before completing a request and will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
10
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including authentication, row-level database controls, restricted storage, encrypted transmission, password screening, and limited retention. No system is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your password and reporting suspected unauthorized access.
11
International Processing
Tennessee Strong 2 is located in the United States. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries with different privacy laws. We use appropriate safeguards where required.
12
Third-Party Links and Public Sources
The Service may display or rely on public information and third-party websites. We do not control those parties and are not responsible for their privacy or security practices.
13
Policy Changes
We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will revise the last-updated date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.
